Life with a Car Seat (Dog's Perspective)

As it turns out, there isn't a whole lot you can do to prepare your dog for the arrival of a baby, but one thing we did do was install the car seat in the car. Zeus is used to sprawling out across the backseat like the first-class passenger he is. We wanted to make sure he would be okay with coach accommodations.

Can I chew or lick this in any way?

This is temporary, right???

Pseudo-baby strikes again!

PregTASTIC podcasts

So there is a popular pregnancy podcast called "PregTASTIC." They record right here in San Diego and I recently sat in on a few sessions. You can either visit the links below and listen on your 'puter, or if you prefer not being tethered to your desk, you can download the podcasts directly to your iDevice.

Episode 229: Pregnancy Ups and Downs. Listen to me discuss what's good and bad about being a human incubator. And, of course, I can't talk for more than 5 minutes without mentioning the dog...

Episode 230: Top 10 Labor and Delivery Fears. Listen to me discuss what freaks me out about labor and delivery (answer: everything).

Dog Days of Summer

San Diego is a great city for a dog and Craig and I love taking Zeus everywhere. Once a year, PetCo Park allows dogs into the stadium to watch a Padres game. This is the 3rd year we've attended and we even saw two other Swissies! Our dogs even managed to set the Guinness World Record for most dogs in costume. Read about it here.

How much longer do I have to wear this dumb shirt?

About 6.5 months pregnant.

I hope someone drops a hot dog soon!

I'm impersonating..

Tutu Cute

I decided to take a sewing class because there are so many things that can be sewn for babies rather than bought for them. Plus I had a brand new sewing machine that wasn't doing much besides collecting dust in the corner. It turns out that making little items for the baby-to-be was a great way to connect with her (apparently being implanted in my uterus isn't connection enough). My first project was making a tutu.

Now obviously Little Donut can't model the tutu just yet, so I would like to introduce you to our pseudo-baby, Pippopotamus. You may know him from such places as Kerin's bedroom and Zeus' mouth. Look for him in future posts strapped into a car seat, baby sling and stroller.

This is so humiliating!
