That Was Then / This Is Now (33)

Dillon is slowly learning to climb up trees. Hopefully she won't learn how to fall out of them.

Even though it's a fun park, we don't make it to Lake Murray very often. However, when Aunt Julie visited over Thanksgiving, we spent a little time there before taking a stroll around the lake. It reminded me of taking Dillon when she was just a wee thing. These pictures were taken 4.5 years apart! WOW.

That Was Then / This Is Now (31)

Remember when I used to have time to sew? I don't, but I guess it's true. I made Dillon a candy-themed romper, which she wore shopping one day with some Sophia Loren-esque shades. Four years later, ditto for Quinn at the zoo.

We are going waaaaaay back for this one! Recently I posted about how Quinn gets to wear a lot of Craig's old clothes. Well! His mom sent us a picture of Craig in the yellow dog jumper! I won't say who's cuter...

Blue steel, Craiggy!

Goofball kid.

Hard to believe our friends bought this dress for Dillon when they went to Hawaii and now it's Quinn's turn to wear it.

We never did the thing where you mark your child's growth on the door jamb, but there is a handy size chart at the Mission Trails visitors center. You can't tell from the close-up, but it's actually a cross-section of a tree trunk.

I love and hate this adorable striped trapezoid dress/top. Super cute and soft but the head hole was so small both girls outgrew it very quickly. Still...it was cute while it lasted.

What is it about kids in laundry baskets? I don't know, but it's cute! And the kids seem to love it.

Man, that green laundry basket was a really good investment!

We've been eating at the Waterfront Grill for several years now. It's a bit of a drive, but the view is great and the food is good too. Dillon has literally been eating there all her life. Different car seat occupant now, of course.

That Was Then / This Is Now (23)

The first time I took Dillon to the Natural History Museum, I couldn't resist buying her a little buddy. We named him Growly (you can see the original post here). Two years later, we brought him back to his original home along with a new baby! I must say, he's ageing pretty well! PS--That is a magical glove she is holding that gives her fierce ice powers.

I actually remember buying this Appaman romper for Dillon when I was pregnant. I still think it's pretty cute. I think they look alike here!

Once upon a time Zeus was so tiny we had to put him in a box in the backseat of the car.

This was the day we brought him home. Only 8 lbs!
Then we had a baby and things got a little cramped.

Life with one car seat.

Then we had another baby and things got really uncomfortable. Somehow we still make it work!

Umm, guys, a little room, please!

You may think, "Poor Quinn. Her whole wardrobe is comprised of Dillon castoffs." Well, rest assured, Dillon's clothes were plenty cute. See here:

About once a year I meet up with my friend Tasha who lives in L.A. Her oldest, Crosby, was born a few days before Dillon and it's always fun to see how they are growing! Not too long ago they came down this way and we met for breakfast in Encinitas.

Guys, get ready for a cavalcade of flashback photos featuring Dillon of yesteryear and Quinn today. First up: bouncy seat. Notice they both like to keep their hands in the pocket.

First of all, I have to say Zeus is ageing remarkably well! Dillon too for that matter. Here they are when Dillon was 3 months old and when she was three years old.

Tea time and the Hotel Del this year and last. It seems like Dillon really jumped from toddler to little girl this year. No more bibs for this one!

Finger food.

I may be older, but I still like finger food.
