Pool Par-tay

Over the summer, Dillon and her gal pals got together for a pool party. It's so nice to keep in touch with these sweet girls even though they're not at preschool together anymore.

Midair!

Snacks with Valeria and Natalia.

Yummy corn on the cob.

No surprise here.
And a super quick video of the big splash:

Birthday Party Round-Up: Millie and Soraya

We recently (well, last summer) celebrated birthdays with two of Dillon's preschool buddies, Millie and Soraya. Millie had a party at a gym where we walked on balance beams, bounced on trampolines and jumped into foam pits, which was super fun!

There's a kid in there somewhere.

Wheeeee!

In ascending height order: Dillon, Millie, Soraya.

Quinn likes the foam pit too.
Here's also a quick vid of Dillon being Dillon. [Song...couldn't resist the sweet 80's synth of "Jump" by Van Halen.]

For Soraya's birthday, we headed to her house for crafts, swimming and a Middle Eastern feast. Quinn was not a fan of the ice cream cake.

Too cold.

Christmas Tradition and Quasi-tradition

Here we have a Christmas tradition and a quasi-tradition. The tradition is, of course, Chinese food for dinner. The quasi-tradition is going on a hike. We haven't done it every year, but most years we seem to gravitate toward Mission Trails for a little pre-prandial hiking.

Blue skies for miles!

Trying out Quinn's hiking pack.

Dillon is slightly overdressed for hiking.

Chinese food yum yums.

Presents! Gimme presents!

To say Dillon is excited about presents it a bit of an understatement. This kid LOVES gifts! Luckily her extended family is quite generous and she and Quinn got tons of fun stuff for Christmas. We opened a few gifts on Christmas Eve and then everything else on Christmas Day. Best part? All-day pyjama lounging! [Notice there are no pictures of mommy at Christmas...no one ever takes pictures of the photographer...]

Zeus could barely squeeze into the office.

Dillon teaching her loveys with the school set from Aunt Julie.

Frozen wrapping paper for extra excitement.

We think she's part dog anyway.

Dillon opening "gifts" she wrapped herself.

Run Tree MC

Remember last year when we decided to live like our ancestors and chop down our own Christmas tree? Well, we went back for more. This time Quinn was old enough to quasi-participate too!

Golden glow.

Tree farm selfie.

Kisses!

Success!

You Spin Me Right Round

Nothing says freedom like a kid at the playground (assuming parents are not hovering nearby so said kid does not break her neck).

Wheeee!
