A Star is Born

This post is overdue, but over the summer Dillon took a week-long ballet camp at SDCYB with her buddy Natalia. At the end of week they had a performance, which was adorable and hilarious. I parked far away and was worried I'd be late so I ran to the studio, tripped and fell, rolled, got up and kept running without missing a beat--I wish somebody has recorded that!

Flowers for a good show.

So adorable.

Dillon is teaching me to curtsy.
And now a bit of a video mash-up. I think my favorite part is how Dillon would just occasionally zone out and forget where she was. [Song is "Rodgers & Hammerstein: Do Re Mi" by the Richard Heyman Orchestra.]

Take a Hike

Sometimes it's easy to forget we live so close to the great outdoors! Here are pix from two recent outings to Mission Trails. Good for the body and soul!

Enjoying the view.

Wild animal sighting.

Halloween, San Diego Style

Halloween was weird in NYC because the weather could either be pleasant or freezing. It's sort of the opposite here where the weather can be either pleasant or sweltering. This year--pretty pleasant! To celebrate Halloween we went Coronado to play on an empty stretch of beach owned by the navy.

Everyone is working on a sand project.

Happy Halloween, y'all!

Mouse ears!
For Halloween proper we braved quite a crowd in a very popular neighborhood. Dillon is still slowly making her way through her big haul of candy!

Tinkerbell!

Cutest mouseketeer ever!

That Was Then / This Is Now (27)

I love and hate this adorable striped trapezoid dress/top. Super cute and soft but the head hole was so small both girls outgrew it very quickly. Still...it was cute while it lasted.

Halloween with the Dolphins

SeaWorld always has great Halloween decorations and lots of candy and fun for the kids. We went with Dillon's buddy Natalia and both girls had a great time dancing and collecting treats around the park.

Don't look behind you!

Both girls got face paint!

Shaking a tail feather.
Here's a little video of Dillon and Natalia bustin' a move on the dance floor.

Birthday Party Round-Up: Mila and Lulu

Mo' birthdays, mo' parties!

First, Mila, the daughter of our good friends turned 2. Her family celebrated with a catered taco truck, tattoos, a bounce house and a pinata (natch). It was lots of fun!

So excited about her strawberry tattoo!

She convinced me to get one too.

Bounce house filter.

Next Quinn's BFF, Lulu, turned one. Coincidentally Lulu's parents called her "Donut" before she was born, just as we did with Dillon!

Ready to sell donuts!

BFFs!

Kiddo Museum of Contemporary Art (16)

Not much on the Quinn art front this go-round, but Dillon has been busy enough!

She said this was a ballet stage. Danger ballet.

"Under the microscope."

Sad face.

I call this one "Tall Guy and Shrimpy."

Disneyland Birthdayland (Part 3)

To wrap up: we spent the night in Anaheim and then explored Downtown Disney the next day before driving back home. Dillon and Quinn both loved the LEGO store!
