Kiddo Museum of Contemporary Art and Academics (25)

I feel like we don't have as much art from Quinn as we had from Dillon that age..or maybe it all just looks the same! Both girls love doing all sorts of (messy) art.

Stained glass jellyfish from Dillon.

This is a picture of Zeus, not of poop!

Quinn's happy princess scribbles.

Dillon made a book about her year in TK.

This is a pretty good praying mantis.

Not sure who wrote her name...but it wasn't Quinn!

Art supplies or dog snacks...?

Dillon Being Dillon

One of Dillon's greatest talents is her unbridled creativity. She often builds or draws something that amazes me. Including her own paper guitar and a grocery list necklace (don't want to lose it, you know).

Lollipops, smoothies, marshmallows and fresh vegetable.

Joan Jett: origin story.

Chalking

Most public universities allow "chalking" on their premises because it falls under the free speech clause of the First Amendment. Clearly Dillon and Quinn have been brushing up on their constitutional law because on a recent walk to SDSU...

What does Dillon love?

Quinn loves a close-up.

Co-art.

I love you mom and dad and boo-boo pants.

Up, Up and Away

This past fall we signed Dillon up for an after-school junior engineering program. She loves math and is super creative so we thought this might be fun for her. They made lots of cool contraptions, including this homemade catapult. This is probably the longest video I've ever posted, but Dillon does a great job of detailing all the materials and demonstrating how it works.

Dillon's burgeoning art skills continue to impress. Her drawings are looking closer and closer to reality and she has a great creative streak. Quinn is still an unknown quantity but she sure does love to eat markers.

Dillon's paper towel art.

Watercolor flowers.

Quinn's Chinese New Year dragon.

Scribble scrabbles.

Dillon wrote all about herself. Her favorite hobby is "iPad."

Writing about fire stations, including their dalmatians.

Can You Spot the Class Pet?

Remember last year when Dillon took the class pet, Clifford, home for the weekend? This year there is a new class pet named Spot. We had quite a few adventures with Spot over Dillon's birthday weekend, including losing him at the zoo, which made me freak out a little bit. Luckily, we found him relaxing in the coffee shop.

Hiding amongst all Dillon's bday presents.

Quinn babysat Spot while Dillon was in ballet.

Clara is also in Dillon's kindergarten class.

Reading "The Poky Little Puppy."

Spot went with us to the nail salon too!

After a frantic search at the zoo, we found him safe and sound!
Dillon also wanted to go to the playground for her birthday. Here's a short video of Quinn and Craig horsing around. It doesn't have anything to do with Spot. It's just funny. [Song is "Under the Sea" by Sebastian the Crab.]
