Hanging with the Langes

Last month our dear friends Stephanie and Jeremy visited us from L.A. You may remember them from Palm Springs. This time we went to Coronado, strolled around Hillcrest and talked about how excited we were that they will welcome a bouncing baby boy into the family in December!

Two women, one toddler, and a half-pint in Stef's belly.

Dillon "smiling."

Beautiful San Diego skyline in the background.

Dillon is upset the french toast is taking so long.

Dog Days of Summer 2013

We missed out last year, but this year we headed back to Petco Park for their annual Dog Days of Summer. Zeus loves baseball. And BBQ. Man it was really hot that day...

Sampling some Phil's BBQ.

Literally the first picture of all four of us.

Is it true that dogs can only see in black and white?

Dillon's First Press Notice: Pomerado News

A few weeks ago we went for a drive to nowhere and ended up at Old Poway Park where the Mark Johnson Band was giving a free concert. Dillon spent the afternoon dancing, blowing bubbles, and sitting on old splintery steps. The Pomerado News was there to capture the moment.

Hard to see, but we're in the upper right corner.

Here's a close-up.

That Was Then / This Is Now (VI)

I'm sure Zeus is completely confused by Dillon, who continues to grow right before his very eyes a la Alice in Wonderland. Dillon, meanwhile, just tries to avoid being on the business end of Zeus's tail. But occasionally they get together for snack time.

Dillon Museum of Fine Art (I)

Now that Dillon is learning some fine motor skills, one of her favorite activities is drawing with chalk and crayons. I took a $20 IKEA table and spray painted it, then painted chalkboard paint on the top so Dillon could have a fun work surface to draw on. I did something similar with an old picture frame and a piece of sheet metal so we could hang up some of her masterpieces. Here is the first installment of her artwork. And you can always check out our Father's Day post to see her painted dinosaur planter.

Upgraded art table.

Dillon's art gallery includes a valentine from her beau.

Channeling Georgia O'Keeffe for Mother's Day.

A teacher drew the eyes and mouth and Dillon drew the extravagant blue beard.

Working on her color theory.

Tortured artist? I think not.

Everybody Loves Mail!

Even Dillon. Although she may have been disappointed to discover it was only diaper ointment.

Jeez...how much butt paste do these people need??
