See Ya Later Alligator

Being a child of America, it's no surprise that Dillon's favorite meal is a burger and fries (and KETCHUP)! Although we didn't tell her what it was up front, she even gobbled up this gator burger! Hope she'll grow up to have an adventurous palate.

After a while, crocodile.

Ursa Major (Big Bear) (Part 2)

Now for the actual skiing! Although Quinn and I hung out at the picnic tables, Craig and Dillon actually "hit the slopes." That's right--Dillon's first time on skis! She did great during her lesson and didn't cry once, even when she fell. We are super proud!

The mountain as seen from the parking lot.

Dillon (in the orange coat) in ski class.

The excitement was too much for Quinn.

Car nap--that hasn't happened in ages!

The drive home.
Here are two videos of Dillon "skiing." First up is Dillon in motion (song is "Long Way Around" by The Dixie Chicks)...please note she skis up to her fallen comrade, Austin, then skis right on past him! The second video is of her on the "magic carpet" to get back up the mountain (song is "Magic Carpet Ride" by Slash and Michael Monroe).

Ursa Major (Big Bear) (Part 1)

Because I am an awesome wife* I planned another surprise trip for Craig's Christmas/birthday present: a quick trip up to Big Bear. Craig hadn't been skiing in so long and it was hard to remember why we'd never driven up to Big Bear before. So when our friends asked if we wanted to go, I said "Yes, please!" We had a great time, even though there wasn't much snow off the mountain.

*Debatable.

Dillon and Foxy all ready for the car trip.

Of course she is under the table during lunch.

Sooooo cute.

Dillon's morning cup o' Joe.

Baby in a wicker basket. Had to do it.

Kiddo Museum of Contemporary Art (13)

More art from our super imaginative girl and also art from our babe! Also including a fairy picture that Dillon and I co-colored (I'll let you figure out who did which half). I love coloring and especially love coloring with Dillon.

Button tree.

Same fairy girl, different interpretations.

Dillon drew me! (In red)

She called it "Chickens Walking in the Rain."

Quinn does a painting a la Daniel Day Lewis (feet).

Soft, pastel fireworks.

Adding the fairy dust.
