Adventures in Learning: the Golden Circle

We're in big transition mode over here! Quinn is leaving her current preschool to join one located on campus with Dillon. We're going to bask in the glory of one location for pick up/drop off for the next five years! In the meantime, some more pix of daycare fun with Quinn's besties.

Sweet times with Lulu.

Sometimes is just easier to eat without clothes.

What does the cat say?

Hugs for Reecey.

Meanwhile, Dillon finished up her year of kindergarten.

Choir performance...she spied me in the audience.

She got a real half-marathon medal for running 13 miles this year.

Last day with pals Claire and Ava Leigh.

Ballet Basics (2)

Here are some pix of her port de bras (carriage of the arms), which were very nicely done!

Second.

Third.

Fourth.

Fifth. (She's getting tired.)

And a short video of her performance. If you want to see how far she's come, re-watch this video from a few summers ago.

And finally a few post-performance pix with friends and some older ballet dancers as well.

With Nutcracker Snowflakes.

With Clara and Swan Lake's Odile.

Ballet Basics (1)

Last spring Dillon had her first ballet recital. We don't really observe class so it was a great chance to see if all that tuition has been worth it. I have to say I was impressed! She was able to follow along really well and her arm placement was pretty alright too. Stage momdom--here I come!

Pre-show pic with BFF Clara (and her sis, Charlotte).

And of course a pic with teacher Miss Gabby.

Passes at the bar (she's in the middle).

Standing in first position.

Showing off her cute skirt.

Brithday Pinata and Tacos

Mila's 4th birthday was such a bash she gets her own post! Belle was there doing face paint; there was a bounce house; a pinata; and best of all fresh, yummy tacos.

Valeria and Dillon show off their face paint.

This might have been Quinn's first face paint.

This is definitely the first time Quinn ever took a photo.

Pinata booty--double lollipop hapinesss.

Group photo with Belle.

I know what you're thinking: not another pinata video. But this one is different because it's the first time Quinn ever participated! [Song is "Lucky Star" by Madonna.]

America: Hot Dogs for Every Man, Woman and Child (2)

And some pix on the golf course. Some people had a snow cone machine and were happily handing them out to any children passing by (i.e., Dillon and Quinn). If you want to see some pix from years past, look here and here.

Free range children.

Quinn was not a willing participant.

Annual wild animal photo.

Snow cones!

America: Hot Dogs for Every Man, Woman and Child (1)

No surprise about our July 4 routine: we went up to Carlsbad again. We don't have a ton of "traditions" in our family, but this is one I love. And the kids love it too. First, some pix at home. You'll see Dillon's fashion philosophy is "more is more." Also I can't resist July 4 balloons!

Giant rocket pop balloon.

Seriously contemplating life in modern America.

Prop distribution seems unfair.

Sibling snuggles.

Parade of two.
